Yolo County Gay Pride Day commemorates the anniversary of the Davis Civil Rights Ordinance. This ordinance which prohibits discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation was among the first of its kind in the United States. A challenge to the ordinance was overwhelmingly defeated by Davis voters.
In addition to continuous stage entertainment, free activities for children and adults will include the Great Water Balloon toss, carousel rides on the people-powered carousel, a bubble garden, bagels and cream cheese, the Coop's kids' maze, facepainting, and fishing for toys. Henna tattoos will be available.
This FREE event is paid for by The Great Raffle and funded in part by the Davis Art Commission.
